You never know what kind of magic you’ll encounter in Nuqui, and each year’s offering is unique.
In addition to daily yoga and surfing, and ample hammock time (bring those books you've been meaning to read, paints, paper, and any project you might want to start/finish/continue…), here are a few of the ways you can take in the natural wonder that is Nuqui.
There are things to do off the property every day if you want to get out and explore…
HIKES
There are endless hikes around the lodge with everything from a short, twenty minute hike to the Lovers’ Cascade—a beautiful hike through the rainforest, leading to a gorgeous swimming hole—to a six hour hike through the jungle where to admire the neon-colored frogs native to the region. There are also shorter versions of the jungle hike that are perfect for bird watching. Colombia enjoys the most diverse population of birds in the world of which many can be seen in this stretch of the rainforest.
FOOD
Ocean to table meals are prepared daily by our chef Chili, and are delicious, and fresh, with vegetarian options!
THE BEACH AT NIGHT
If we are lucky, we might see the glowing algae that lights up the ocean at night, which is contingent on the moon phases and the time of the year. This sets the scene for night swims and beach bonfires. We’ll spend the evenings drinking local cervezas, chanting, and stargazing. Bring an instrument if you play one!
MINERAL BATHS
Toward the end of the week, we visit the mineral baths to soothe our fatigued muscles. The baths are the perfect temperature for the climate and are adjacent to a cold river where you can take a dip to cool off, to make for an all-day natural spa experience. Natural mud masks are also amazing for the skin, and make for an epic photo opp!
