The Proposal:
This trip, along with cooking class; coffee tasting; horseback riding through endless acres of undeveloped land; trip to the charming colonial town of Salento; hike through the spectacular Corcora Valley; and AMAZING yoga, is like no other. It is a cultural trip. A mix of delicious yoga, being immersed in another land and culture, and learning the inner workings of a pineapple/cattle ranch. THE RANCH: is privately owned and works as a cattle and pineapple ranch to this day. We will be the only people on it other than cowboys and the staff. It has belonged to family friends (the only reason we can visit it) for generations and is exquisitely maintained along with all of its horses, cows, chickens, peacocks, and fields of pineapple, soy and other crops. A sprawling property, it is the last of its kind, nestled in the Andes Mountains, in the beautiful, tropical climate of the coffee region. Two rivers run through it alongside expansive fields, impending mountains, and bamboo forests that are home to a wealth a fauna and flora, including sloths and monkeys.
THE HOUSE: a picturesque, pristinely kept historic home from the colonial era is splendid, and sits high on a hill, overlooking the sweeping property. Gorgeous balconies and lounge areas, hung with hammocks and lush flowers, look out into the pool.
THE ROOMS: are double occupancy.
THE FOOD: is delicious and could not be fresher, grown on the ranch itself.
THE WEATHER: is between 75 and 80 degrees with occasional tropical rain showers.
THE MOOD: the bhava of our retreats is centered around intentional, diverse and inclusive community. We are people who love travel, yoga, and adventure, with a desire to share communal spaces and experiences, learn from each other and respect the places we visit. We part from a place of love, curiosity and doing the least amount of harm (which is why we offset our carbon emissions as part of the cost of all retreats). We hold space for all ages, races, abilities and genders, no exception. If this speaks to you, come with us.
