Who are your favorite monsters – in books, movies, shows, anime, etc.? In most classical depictions of monsters, they are both feared and misunderstood by the world in which they live. But can monsters also be beautiful? Join Miles and Sarah Jill to uncover the possibility of a “beautiful monster” and how this idea upends what society deems beautiful and therefore worthy or valuable? In this workshop, we’ll explore the many overlaps between queerness and monstrous, and how we can use imagination and creativity to tell our stories.
