Morning Practices + Opening & Closing Sessions
Resilience is an elasticity and an ability to bring things back into their original shape. Our yoga practice is precisely a practice of resilience. And if resilience is a practice, that means that we can grow it, amplify it and strengthen it.
The Koshas or Sheaths are the way ancient yogis understand what we think of as consciousness. This course is to better help us comprehend our inner workings. How we function, why we get stuck when we do get stuck and how to unstick ourselves. We will learn how consciousness not only is formed, but how we can sharpen, improve or affect change in habits and ruts that are no longer working for us. Thus uncovering our own resilience.
This 25-hour training takes online over the course of two weeks
CURRICULUM & FORMAT
This module will be an experiential study of the Subtle Layers of the Body or Koshas. We will meet for ten mornings that will contain a mix of practice and discussion, uncovering and unpacking the 5 koshas once, one day per kosha and then delving deeper into these practices the second week.
Practices will be a mixture of physical practice-asana, different meditations and pranayama practices, and also yoga nidra. Not all days will include all practices and the emphasis of this time together is not on the physical practice but on the other subtler practices, though we will use it at times as a means to excavate deeper into the levels of our awareness.
Reading will be The Mirror of Yoga By Richard Freeman
